Hey, there's Cnet's Tom Merritt!
I have a Lenovo laptop that I bought in 2006 that is running Windows XP. A day after the warranty expired, it started shutting itself down. It also only works when plugged in, so clearly the battery needs to be replaced, but shouldn't it work when plugged in? Sometimes it will stay on for several hours, but it often won't stay on for even 2 minutes. I would like to reboot to original factory settings, but it won't even stay on long enough to do that. I would love any help you can give me.
