computer help needed!

I had my son's pc cleaned out once and redone, or whatever you call it, it was so corrupted etc, anyway I got it back and it has instant messenger but won't let me into web pages at all, says forbiiden at times or unavailable or something, he has win98se on his, and a wireless b pci adapter, I have the router on my xp which is fine, I just had to go delete a few unknown things thinking I will make even more room, I guess i mess up, so now I we have is a black screen, I want to know how to clean out and reinstall 98se myself,can anyone tell me how? thanks

http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/Installing_Windows_98-t9803.html is very instructive also, with lots of screenprints, but it assumes you have a bootable Windows 98 CD. If you don't have that, the procedure is slightly different, using the boot diskette to boot from and then making right choice on your first answer.

It seems you don't have much to lose, so prepare as well as you can, and go ahead.
