Computer hang with LiveCD DSL, plese help!

by adamzz / March 1, 2007 7:30 AM PST

Originally I used winxp pro sp2, computer always restarted by itself, blue screen or totally hang.
I was suggested to use LiveCD.
Got a DSL version (50M).

The first time it started well, with good resolution 1280x1024.
Then I tried ldconfig, computer restarted.
Afterwards, every time I tried to boot LiveCD, computer hang about 2sec after the message 'RAMDISK: Compressed Image found at block 0' shows.

Anyone can let me know what does this mean, and how can I diagnose my hardware problem?

Many thanks!

What I would do

Wipe your junk copy of XP from your hard drive with a complete disk wipe using DBAN. Get a different Linux distribution and try to boot its live CD (try Knoppix).

If you have troubles with the live CD, then it's likely you have a hardware problem.
