That would be a prescription to let an email bug/virus/worm/pest/parasite onto your machine. People have not learned what is written at http://www.blackviper.com/
"The techniques to try and get people to "open that attachment" and infect systems really makes me laugh! I touched on several in my Free Beer Rant, but the following E-Mail(s) look like a new strain as Symantec.com has nothing about it (yet). I am going to say it here and again at the end of this news post:
Everyone, I beg of you, STOP OPENING E-MAIL ATTACHMENTS!!!"
If you open an email and/or an attachment without good reason, then no one can help you until you stop. I open NO EMAIL unless its from who I know and even then I will not open .EXE and all others. I'm only opening PICTURES and nothing else.
Again, if you are opening all email, your machine will have issue.
Here's some writing about cleanup tools, but first a note about Norton Antivirus. The year 2004 version is not without issue for many. Try the Free AVG from http://www.grisoft.com
Parasite removal programs.
http://reviews.cnet.com/5208-6132-0.html?forumID=32&threadID=1313&start=0 notes the five scanning tools and removal tools that are fairly safe. If one does encounter an issue, its always been damage done by the MALWARE. The most common issue being Layered Service Provider replacement which you can use LSPFIX (Hint: use http://www.google.com to find).
The thread has follow on discussions about new links if you don't want to use Google to find an item.
