Computer freezes when I press Turn Off Computer

I got this problem when i press turn off computer after an hour or so of using the computer, it just freezes or hangs. I can still move the mouse and press ctrl+alt+del to shut down but it wont and ill have to restart, then shut down. It's been this for a week and i had this comp for 2 years.
AMD Ahlon 64 processor 3200+
2.00 ghz
1gb of ram

If you can move the mouse cursor...

and/or use the Ctrl+Alt+Del key combo to bring up the Task Manager your system is NOT frozen nor hung. It is quite likely that a process is either hung or awaiting an action.

Try using the Task Manager to see which process is hanging (and the event might also show up in your Event Viewer under Admin Tools).

Could be maybe

It's a possiblity, but its been happening everytime and when i check the event viewer there seems to be alot of event 7000 and 7011. I check them both and I don't think 7000 is the problem, but maybe 7011. Except I can't understand a way to fix it from the microsoft support site.
Please respond it'll be weclomed.
