computer freezes when attempting to dial a connection.

Apr 27, 2007 1:57AM PDT

my friend built me a new computer, and we completely wiped the HD, installed xp pro, all the drivers, everything. we ran it on his broadband to download a few large files, then i installed my isp disk, and when i got home, i attempted to dial a connection, but the computer just froze, and had to restart it using the little button on the front of my computer case. we called my isp, and they said it was OS. so we wiped the HD again, and installed xp pro AGAIN... we did everything we had done before, and i tried to establish a connection, and the computer froze again. i've taken to computer shops, my schools computer teacher, a few friends in computer classes, and no one knows what the problem is. i stayed up all night looking for solutions, and couldn't figure it out. if anyone has any suggestions, or tips, please help, it would be very appreciated! thanks!

Also, do the words in red show up when you post? We have a theory that it doesn't show for some. Please tell.

Note: If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem. Also please exercise your best judgment when posting in the forums--revealing personal information such as your e-mail address, telephone number, and address is not recommended.

Since you don't think that's it and I do, this is where I must stop. No need to go back and forth over an area you are sure about.
