Answer
For i9 builds.

I've been sending folk over to LTT (Linux Tech Tips) forums.

They know a few builds that lock up and I don't have that data.
Also watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sCfmM71NOTo and see a stable build example.

That said the usual is updated BIOS, clean OS install, drivers per the maker etc.

A few times this year folk brought me a lockerupper and we found they got the OS from other than Microsoft. Hard to pinpoint that one since the OS looked legit but after some questioning the owner told us they got their W10 from some discount site that you had to download from other than Microsoft.

Thanks I’ll be tryin a new OS that I bought from Best Buy. The other OS I got from a amazon a third party. I really hope this is the cause. I learned my lesson you get what you pay for. So let’s see thanks for the help. I’ll let you know what happens.

If you got W10 from some third party we may not have to go get another.

W10 activation is digital so once it's activated your machine is good to go UNLESS this is some crack that I won't write about (ever.)

So let's move on to how to get a clean copy from Microsoft. Here's what I do. I get out a 8 or more GB USB stick (don't go nuts with a 500GB stick) then head to https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/15088/windows-10-create-installation-media and download their tool which will create the USB stick for you.
