Computer for the elderly?

by drisc52 / January 3, 2012 7:03 AM PST

I am looking to purchase a computer for my 88 year old grandmother. She
is capable of computing but needs something that is fast and most of
all easy to use.

I use a mac air and love it. Ideally, I am something less expensive. She would basically use it for light internet searching, emails, and scanning photos.

Still hoping to spend less
by drisc52 / January 4, 2012 11:53 AM PST

I am hoping to spend less than the cost of an ipad. I had read that the new chromebook might be a decent option, but I was not super impressed after the Cnet review. Although since she needs only basic computing, it might work.
