General discussion

computer erratic weirdness

Feb 1, 2015 3:19AM PST

My computer is skipping pages, all programs. It sometimes double opens pages. When I delete emails it sometimes deletes adjacent emails. When pages are maximized sometimes they will minimize themselves when the mouse is clicked.

Re: pages

My computer doesn't even have pages. With me, only Word documents and sites on internet have pages. And they never skip (whatever skipping a page in a Word document means, maybe not printing that page?). And those pages in Word or on a websitecan't be maximized or minimised either; I can only resize a window (if it sin't a dialog window).

Also, if I select 1 mail in Thunderbird and press the delete key, only that one mail is deleted.

So can you tell what you do in what program(s) and what happens?

But I like the James' idea of trying a different mouse.

Check and verify

replace the mouse or kybd. or both and check results. I *assume* you have no physical affliction that may cause twitching, etc. at the those inputs. For the mouse, you should check to see if the default setting are active or slightly reduced. This all includes that the mouse or kybd. isn't damaged in some way or too unique. You should also check your browser setting, you can return to defaults and then reset to your likening, saving upon exit. All this excludes any possible malware or minor infection. If so, have you done any AV scanning after updating your AV pgm.? Don't assume anything, check it!!!
