2. Read http://www.techrepublic.com/forum/questions/101-234779 and use AUTORUNS to re-enable what's disabled.

well in the past i have had a couple different external HDD's that I've used with my computer no problem but recently my computer hasnt been able to use them. now when i plug it in it doesnt show up in my computer or disk management and when i go into device manager it has a yellow exclamation point next to it. under properties the device status says "a driver for this device has been disabled. an alternate driver may be providing this functionality (code 32)" ive already tried the typical fix of uninstalling the driver and then restarting my computer and that seems to do nothing for me it just shows back up with the awesome yellow exclamation point as if nothing happened. the HDD's work perfectly fine on other computers so im out of things to try, anyone else have any suggestions? im open to anything since i use it on a daily basis.
