Computer does not recognize Zen vision :M

Oct 26, 2008 11:53AM PDT

I am running XP Home/SP2. Until about two weeks ago, everything was fine. Now, the computer does not recognize my Zen Vision:m 30 Gb MP3 player. I have tried to manually install it, switch the USB cable into different ports, tried it on a different computer, etc. Nothing works. It is simply not recognized. I am waiting for an answer from Creative customer support, but I hoped someone here had some advice.

It's either the cable or the Zen.

My experience with creative
Nov 9, 2008 9:56AM PST

I had a creative m vision and it was fine except occasionally it would freeze and then I had to use the reset button. About 6 weeks ago my computer stopped recognizing the m. I tried several things it did not work. I have an old dell jukebox as a backup and my computer recognized it so I knew at this point it was the m. Since it was under warranty I sent it back and the warrenty company found that there was something wrong with the m so they had re-imburse me all of my money. This is the second creative zen that I have had. The first zen totally died within the first week and I returned it to the store. Im starting to think there is just something wrong with the creative brand overall. I don't know if my story helps but that was my experience with creative. I hate ipods so now im ordering a zune 120. Good luck with zen I hope if you keep it they are able to fix it.
