Just make sure the PC you buy and the TV have the same inputs/outputs for video. Sound can come from speakers that will probably come with the PC. Or, make sure the TV has an audio input that will match the PC's audio output.
My mom has been using MSNTV for years, and has finally grown tired of all its limitations. The one thing it's been good for is allowing her to read e-mail and basic web pages from her wall-mounted TV while in bed (she has multiple sclerosis and is limited in function).
This Christmas, I wanted to upgrade her with a real computer and voice-control software. But I need a display she can see clearly and legibly from 6-10 feet away...words in web pages, e-mails must be able to be read. I'm thinking my best bet is an HD LCD display (was looking at a 32" 720p Samsung). Am I leaning the wrong way? Any suggestions?
