The Speccy tells a lot.

What about the Power Supply Unit (PSU) make and model?

- Collapse -
psu
Apr 30, 2017 3:22PM PDT

The PSU is 500 W ATX by Cybertronics.

- Collapse -
That's not a known model.
Apr 30, 2017 3:30PM PDT

I worry you are using the make of the PC. Let's see the make and model from the sticker on the PSU.

- Collapse -
psu
Apr 30, 2017 3:42PM PDT

You are right. Model #: SL-F500. It only says cybertron pc for the make. Then it lists several different voltages.

- Collapse -
Seems an OEM PSU?

What to buy
Apr 30, 2017 5:33PM PDT

What would be a good replacement? And do you think that this ****** power supply would be contributing to the crashing or something I just need to replace soon due to the quality?

Answer
Speccy reading. What I would do if mine.
Apr 30, 2017 3:28PM PDT

1. ConfigSetRoot
Ask the person that installed the OS why they used this feature. It's not something I see often.

2. Single channel RAM. While not a cause of crashes, odd choice. Ask the maker why.

3. "Turn Off Monitor after:" This and others, set to Never until machine is stable.

4. Turn the following off. Why? Going for stability first, less things running the better.
Read https://www.howtogeek.com/224981/how-to-stop-windows-10-from-uploading-updates-to-other-pcs-over-the-internet/

5. "Reimage is another annoying "PC Booster/Optimizer" program. Let's see if we can help you get rid of it."
Read https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/572810/reimage-protector-removal/

-> PAUSE. PC Optimizers have for now caused more problems than they solve.

6. Secunia. Since you are crashing, remove till stable.

7. AVG too?
"(AVG Secure Search) C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\AVG Secure Search\vToolbarUpdater\40.2.4\"
Remove, and use AVG's cleaner tool to be sure it's clean.

8. WtuSystemSupport is more AVG.
Running multiple security apps and PC "Optimizers" is not a good idea. Clean it up.

9. CCleaner64.
Remove until stable.

10. MBAMService. Yet another protection app. Way too many at this point. Remove until stable.

11. hp DVD RW AD-7251H5
TOSHIBA DT01ACA100
Unplug till machine is stable.

12. BIG ISSUE!!! The motherboard did not list Windows 10 drivers.
Read https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/M5A78L-M-PLUS-USB3/HelpDesk_Download/

13. BIOS OUT OF DATE.
"M5A78L-M PLUS/USB3 BIOS 0502
Improve CPU stability" Yours is 0404. You are having stability issues and item 12 is concerning. Ask the maker why this board?

14. HDD. Some very odd crashes have been cleared up with CHKDSK. Run it like this.
CHKDSK C: /F /X
May need elevated prompt and reboot.

15. Printer driver looks to be pre-Windows 10. Go get their latest that notes Windows 10.
THIS CAN CAUSE VIDEO DRIVER CRASHES.

16. DHCP: 192.168.1.254
Not a crash source. Test with NAMEBENCH and see if 8.8.8.8 or 4.2.2.1 is faster.

17. Install latest video card drivers, leave the case cover off for now and tell what PSU (make and mode was used.)

This was a preset-up cybertronic pc. I still am under warranty. I will ask tech support tomorrow these questions and do the steps I can do.

steps
Apr 30, 2017 5:44PM PDT

Will complete: 1,2, 13 once I talk to customer service and this was from Fry's as a prebuild.

Have completed 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 16 says "Google Public DNS-2 8.8.4.4 is the best, 17

Don't understand: 3 How do I locate?, 8 can't locate it or it was removed with AVG, 12 tried updating drivers said are up to date, 14 tried running CHKDSK C: /F /X but after restart got no results, 15 can not locate printer driver and when I go to update driver it says its up to date

- Collapse -
Item 3 would be nice to do.
Apr 30, 2017 6:15PM PDT

If you can't find it, move forward.

AVG's remover tool could clean it out. We can run another speccy later.

The printer driver was found to be dated by me using google on your printer model. It's from Canon so off to canon.com and fish around. I worry about what country so I didn't share what I found. You might need the German version?

As to CHKDSK C: /F /X, it should ask if you want to run on next boot. If not, you need to try again.

Thanks

Here is the current speccy: http://speccy.piriform.com/results/MyD7s2qDCJdK6Z3jSFa0YNc

I fixed 3, i was overthinking this. I found the canon printer drives and downloaded them.

The CHKDSK C: /F /X has been an issue. I have attempted it 4 times running it as an admin command prompt and restarting because it says it can't access it and it needs a reset. However, after the reset, there would be no results and trying to use the same admin command prompt would only bring me back to the original step.

I also wanted to say I really appreciate all the time and help you are putting into this. Thanks. Happy

Will read it soon.

But did chkdsk run on the next reboot? We're not interested in the CHKDSK output yet.

No it did not run on the next reboot.

- Collapse -
The Canon printer looks still outdated.
Apr 30, 2017 9:51PM PDT

It might be OK but I was on a Japanese site and it looked like a 2016 driver.

CHKDSK. It should run on the next reboot. We just want it to run and don't need to check it's results.

The Voltage readings look off for the 3 and 5V rails. See if the BIOS shows in spec or not. Maybe it's that PSU? It is suspect due to its ratings (If it's the one I googled.)

-> The maker needs to answer why the motherboard does not list Windows 10 and that PSU issue.

Be back tomorrow.

Actually, I am not sure about the CHKDSK. I will call customer service about the motherboard and Windows 10 tomorrow.

More about CHKDSK
May 1, 2017 6:40AM PDT

After you issue the command it usually replies with some messages. What were those?

And did it run on the next boot? If so, let it finish. That's all we're after on this step.

Those voltages are way off and could be what's wrong. See if your motherboard BIOS reads those and get a Volt meter to see if they are that far off. If so, you found it.

chkdsk
May 1, 2017 2:36PM PDT

Every time I run it I do not get any replies. None after I immediately put the check in and none after I reset the computer. I have done it 5 times and received no outputs.

I will get a voltmeter later today after work and I will have the results by tomorrow.

I definitely did not re-download that and no I haven't been getting help from anyone else. I have no idea how I got it there because I specifically remember deleting that. The canon software was from all the new drivers.
