Maybe a little machine detail will help but without detail all I can offer is the common issues of overtaxed power supplies which I run into too often. After that, are bad Windows installs. No maker seems to give the owners an install plan.
So, I built this computer ages ago and probably can't tell you what's in it. I know ATI at the time (though I didn't know when building it) was prone to crashing when a game alters the resolution (goes into full screen mode).
The other night I was trying to start the game Outlast, but I couldn't get the damn thing out of full screen mode. My computer crashed twice, going to blue screen and performing a "physical memory dump". However, after the 3rd time my computer stops booting. The blue screen memory dump did not occur though I could hear the games ambiance still playing on the frozen screen.
I turn my power off to restart it manually, but when I do the power turns on but the computer doesn't boot and I can't hear a bios beep. Just lights and fans.
I've tried leaving it off for a while, unplugging it for a bit, and have checked/switched the ram around, all of which I've read on the net, but nothing has helped. Anyone here experience this kind of ATI crash?
