The big clue in your post is "memory testing and they did not work."
Since this memory test is run from the Windows disk, nothing on the HDD is at play so AVG is not involved.
Fix that memory test failure and the machine should come back to life.

I am running Windows 7 on an acer aspire 5532 laptop. My AVG 9 was about to expire so I wanted to remove it to install the new AVG 2011 Free version. AFter removing AVG 9, the computer crashed with a blue screen message that can not be read because it goes away so fast. I tried start-up repair from the Windows disk and also system restore and memory testing and they did not work. Any suggestions?
