..Such is created by the user in the BIOS settings.. If you don't remember the password, there are possibilities for resetting it.. One is to remove the computer from all power, including the CMOS battery, wait for about 10 minutes, then replace the CMOS battery and reconnect to power. The best option is to check with your computer manufacturer for any specific advise regarding your laptop.

I have a Toshiba Satellite A135-S2386. Every time I try to boot up it goes to a screen which says password in blue letters on a black background. My friend says that this is a DOS screen. However, I don't have a DOS password and I have no idea what to do. I am not very computer literate beyond surfing the web and solving minor problems.
