Computer becomes unresponsive except for the mouse

by papasmurf3900 / May 10, 2010 9:29 PM PDT

Well for about a week my computer began freezing after about 30 minutes from turning it on. So today I decided to take the video card out and see if that was the problem. I turned it on at 6pm and let it run all night. I came back this morning and it had frozen at 12:39am because the clock had stopped. My mouse still worked though but could not open any programs even task manager. Before it froze I removed a lot of old unused programs and cleaned up everything. I also removed some spyware on it but obviously didn't get all of it because every time I get on aol.com I get phished into giving out my credit card to log in. I don't know what else to do. Might just take it to get fixed....again. I have windows xp btw.

This file jumped right out at me, here is a link to what this file is http://www.spynomore.com/helper-security-com.htm

Did you post this log to the forums in bleepingcomputers.com, if so, did they offer a solution for you?
I also noticed from the log that you have Limewire installed; this site (although legal) contains more ways to get infected than sitting on a dirty toilet, there are many people that will upload a trojan (or the like) and disguise it as music or video.

As soon as I can find a legit program to remove, I will post back.
