Question

Computer

I have an Ecot school computer and recently the online school Ecot has been suspended and I'm left with a computer I can't do nothing on because of its restrictions and I need help on taking the restrictions off or resetting the computer completely.

You pick what OS you want to run, then wipe the computer blank (I use DBAN) then install the OS of my choosing. Since both DBAN and how to install almost any OS is on the web, I pause here.

Nothing needs to be downloaded on this Ecot.

You download what you need on another PC then make bootable USB or DVD as required for what you want to do to this PC.

One of the things that is odd to new PC users is you need a working PC to download and create tools to fix a downed PC.

So I'm supposed to use another computer to download a program to put on my USB and reset the school computer. There's nothing wrong with the computer at all it's completely functional but I can't access websites or anything without an admin login and I wish to use the computer.

Sounds right to me.

As I wrote, some folk, mostly new to all this get a big surprise when I have to use a working PC to make the media to fix a dead PC or one that's locked down.
