Component Video Cables for PS2

Mar 21, 2007 1:40PM PDT

I want to get some component video cables for my old ps2. My first question is will the ps3 component cables work with the ps2 And the second question is has anybody had any experience with the component cables that are of good quality and yet still relatively cheap?

and posted everything.

I have the old school wide body ps2. It doesnt work. The new slimline ps2 with component cables works great!

I just got FlatOut2 and it looks great. I havnt tried Laura Croft Legent with the new set up, but it has a progressive scan setting in the game that might very well be a very good image.

The cables I got at Circuit City for 19.99. Thats cheap enough to not worry about pulling cables from the ps3 to use.

I got the Sony brand cables. The Monster cables were 45.00 I think.

I got my Monster S-Video cables for my PS2 for $20, they were used but they look and perform like new. Also I got my PS2's Monster component cables on eBay brand new never out of the factory packaging for $30. The upgrade to component will make a noticeable difference (hell the upgrade to S-Video makes a noticeable difference) but the Monster cables do give you that little extra boost, they aren't worth $60 by a long shot but if you can find em on the cheap for about half off I'd shoot for Monster (as long as you're in the realm of analog that is, digital cables all perform pretty much the same but since this is the PS2 I suppose you don't have the option to go with HDMI or DVI anyway so I'll just stop talking).
