General discussion

Complications. At least it's news from China

that may be trustworthy. If only because it's bad.

"Recovered, almost: China's early patients unable to shed coronavirus"
The key point: "The prospect of people remaining positive for the virus, and therefore potentially infectious, is of international concern, as many countries seek to end lockdowns and resume economic activity as the spread of the virus slows. Currently, the globally recommended isolation period after exposure is 14 days."
These cured people are retesting positive after two months or more. Underscores the importance of accurate knowledge- which we do not have yet.

Y'all do understand these people are
(A) infectious as far as we know, and
(B) asymptomatic,
right?

Trustworthy?

Do you even consider the PROBABILTY that China is lying again? The longer they can frighten other countries' leaders into keeping a lockdown in place, the faster the economic failure of those countries becomes total and not recoverable for generations.

How quickly liberals are able to believe China for anything they say or do but call Trump the liar every hour on the hour.

I believe that particular China story

Because influenza has been around for 100 years, which means somebody, or a lot of them, are continual carriers which get it going again every year.

That's a good point.

But I think this report allows for that. Remember, "novel" coronavirus, so no one ever had it before.
Therefore this guy got what was affecting everyone else, recovered, and still has evidence in his system.
IOW the danger signal is a real one, especially as it bears on reopening.
My take is still 'dont trust Chinese government'. Very poor track record. Last night a network news org was digging into 'what did they know and when'. Even without the Bible I know better than to "put my trust in earthling man".
It's the common behavior pattern of dictators ... and wannabes. Grin Cool

keeping a lockdown in place, the faster the economic failure of those countries

And where does China cutting off the market for the products produced in China fit into YOUR scenario?

YOUR customers are in "economic failure" and YOU come out ahead of the game?

Please explain your logic of that argument.

If they can frighten USA leaders, especially
Apr 22, 2020 8:04AM PDT

into keeping the lockdown in place and our country fails economically, China 'wins' because they can lower the prices of everything they make in their country and still come out ahead in the economic race game and literally become the world leader....especially since they pay their own people next to nothing and don't care about them because they can easily keep them all as slave labor. World dominance is all they care about and Clinton handed it to them on a silver platter with successor presidents following until now.

When the USA became a 'consumer' country rather than a 'manufacturing' country, we started the 'fail' path and China has been taking advantage of that and continues to do so as much as they can.

China 'wins' because they can lower the prices of everything they make in their country

Made in China...stockpiled in China?

AND there is a reason to produce something when there are NO consumers?

Sounds like they would be operating at a loss...Bookkeeping 101.

Cut your nose off to spite your face...another one YOU have MY permission to use.

Cutting off the nose to spite the face" is an expression to describe a needlessly self-destructive over-reaction to a problem: "Don't cut off your nose to spite your face" is a warning against acting out of pique, or against pursuing revenge in a way that would damage oneself more than the object of one's anger.

PS IF China "lowers the prices" doesn't that give American businesses the opportunity to IMPORT goods for less and SELL goods for more to American citizens?

Buy low...Sell high?

Of course American citizens are "broke" and can't buy anything even if the product cost next to nothing.
