completely re-initialize dell latitude csx500 hard drive

Sep 10, 2004 4:17PM PDT

dell lat csx500 with 128ram 10g HD currently set up as dual boot hard drive XP and 2K; I want to re-initialize the system and re-partition hard drive as ONE logical drive with ONLY XP. XP disk management won't let me delete partition one (system) or partition two (boot). How can I start from scratch to re-partition and re-format hard drive for NTFS and ONE logical 10 Gig hard drive - then re-load XP?

10 gig drive?

Use xp cd to boot, at Install xp -> format current drive-> then install. If XP does not allow this or you cannot boot from cd use 98 boot disk. Remove Non-DOS partitions with fdisk.

Go to CD drive Type
CD/I386 -> enter
WINNT -> enter
This will start the install of XP
