Microsoft do not make office for Linux

Microsoft do not make office for Linux.
Inside Ubuntu you already have Open office installed by default.
Also there is other not so popular free offices: koffice and goffice (better known as separate programs: gnumeric and abiword).
From commercial ones there is "Oracle Open Office" ("better" version of Open office from Oracle corp.).

Open Office

I can say is the best for both worlds even for a third world.

Sun makes it for Apple, Linux and MS so is not like one will not work on other.

I have read about people using Wine ("MS Emulator") and installed MS Office.

Personally I use Open Office more since works wonders on all 3 Operation Systems.

However, for a power user of Office Suites might be lacking of lets say, some bells and whistles that others do not have.

In overall is great Application for free.

One way that you can always use a windows program is you can install virtualbox and put windows in the virtual machine. That way you can just install windows programs in the virtual machine.

Linux is not firm and Linux all interesting Linux applications are available on windows. Firefox, VLC, openoffice. Just microsoft do not make applications for Linux fearing that it will hurt windows sales on the other hand Linux is free and there is nothing to fear just share freedom with everyone.
