It is no accident that these cameras have almost identical specifications:
The HX1 was introduced in Sept of 2008.
The SX1 was introduced in Mar of 2009.
Canon came out with the SX1 to compete against Sony's HX1.
Both are their first venture into CMOS sensors on small cameras.
Both companies have invested about 500 million dollars into new facilities to build CMOS sensors.
CMOS offers much more speed (photos per second).
I suggest you read what owners of the cameras have to say about their cameras.
Look at the link I provided and notice the red stars.
The stars indicate the rating given by owners of the cameras.
Right under the red stars is a link to what owner's think.
Click that link and read what owners have to say.
Can we compare Sony Hx1 and Canon PowerShot SX1 IS?
Interested in tose two good cameras.
