General discussion

Compaq v2009

Jan 16, 2005 5:27AM PST

Hi everyone Happy

I'm looking for a cheap, light, thin notebook and after looking quite vigorously, one that has caught my attention is the compaq v2009.
I'm close to buying it but can't find a review on it.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend some good review sites or better yet, if anyone's used it, could you please tell me what you thought of it.

I'd greatly appreciate it, if anyone could help me out.

Thanks a lot,

Marc

It's basically the same unit. The unit has been very nice and no complaints. Nice touches are the Wifi on/off button and the mousepad on/off buttons.

USB ports are on each corner with SD/MMC card reader as well.

The unit is very trim looking too.

See DV1000forums.com for Compaq V2000 detail....

The HPDV1000 series and the Compaq V2000 series (of which your models are prebuilt versions) are sister notebooks -- see DV1000forums.com for details on both.

The HPDV1000 has a few features the Compaq does not so carefully look at what the Compaq lacks -- I think the Compaq may not have the built in remote control in the PCcard slot for the instant on DVD/CD control so I would want the HPDV1000 for that (and the price difference is minimal).

Try pricing both notebooks also at hpshopping.com ..........

Hey...I wanted to get a review for the compaq V2000 as well and found one at notebookreview.com . I would highly recommend you to check out the HP DV1000 which is like the sister of the compaq V2000 and comes with a dvd remote control.
