Compaq Presario C700 HD failure.

Ok so I have a Compaq Presario C700 and was installing a printer, power goes out and laptop turns off. The problem now is that windows wont load, Please Help....

I have ran the disk check and it gives me an error. I went to it's manufactures website and downloaded the Fit Test and gave me an error of HD bad sector and it can't fix. I have a Hitashi HD and I have a Windows Vista... what are my options....

Did you call HP?

Ask for them to fix it.

If they say "out of warranty" then check if you have your restore DVDs and order them while you're on the phone.

Now as to the hard disk, use hp.com to determine what type hard disk interface it is and head to newegg.com to order up the drive.

Urban lore.

I'm hearing some urban lore that you should remove laptop batteries so they'll last longer. There is a downside to this and could be like not using the seatbelts so they last longer.
