Compaq Presario 7cy006

Okay, so. I got the above model in 2001 for my birthday. In Germany. I stopped using it in 2006 when I got my very first and back then very modern Dell laptop. Anyway, since I can't afford a brand new desktop PC, and I'm busy with graphic school, I'd like to update the said PC. I recently asked about a Dell awhile back, and took the advice to not spend a dime. But now I want to know if changing the graphic card of this Compaq model would be alright, or if I need to change anything else in it to get Windows 7 to run on it. It currently has XP, and refuses to load Adobe CS5 due to how outdated the graphic card is. The PC itself is in fantastic shape. It looks brand new still. Wink

But I was wondering if anyone has this model, or knows about it as it seems no where on the WWW has info on what graphic card I need.

Exactly my problem. This model seems to be a phantom. I'll go collect the specs. Maybe it'll help.

After the slowness that is PC, I managed to get this. The HD is pretty new. From 2008, seeing as my cousin fried the previous one. And the graphic card say this:

NVidia GeForce 2 MX/MX400

All else is:

Pentium III

864 MHz, 512 MB Ram

That most will write do not upgrade. Here in the states you can get Pentium 4 machines for free so why not check out and subscribe to FREECYCLE in your locale?

Sadly, I don't think that applies to people in Germany as I am. I'll ask the computer store what I could do with the machine then, if I could get a new one if I give in my old one. Thanks though!

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
