compaq evo 310v

I had to restore my computer,and I have the restore disk for it with windows home edition on one of the disk.it will read the disk and when it get thru and goes on its on to boot up,a blue screen comes up stop error,is there another disk I can use to get it back up or does anyone have any suggestions that I can do

Some of these require the BIOS to be set to "stock", default

For example a friend had this issue (another model) and for unknown reasons they had changed the SATA "MODE". Putting it to the other mode fixed it but we had to run the restore CD again.

Too bad the stop error number was not shared as the usual 0xa has me think it's the same old thing.

Sorry but I didn't find a manual.

This means you'll have to look around the bios screens for a default or try looking for a SATA mode option.
