would be my guess.

But then it depends where you live. In the UK where I am Virgin Broadband is pretty reasonable.

Here in Pennsylvania, USA

they advertise Embarq for $24.95 a month.

They also advertise Verizon for $14.99 a month, but I know that's NOT true.

I use Verizon DSL up to 768kb and pay 21.99 a month.

Sure beats dial-up.

Verzion is $14.99 if you stay with them for 2 years.

Then the price does go up.

I was notified in May that the price was going up and it just went up in August or September.

Still a good deal compared to dial-up. I don't need superfast and I'm happy with the DSL up to 768kb.

Not sure who's cheaper
Nov 4, 2007 11:14PM PST

I'm not sure who is cheapest at the moment as they all have different offers running at different time. But I would recommend taking up the 30 days trials with a couple of them and see which provider you prefer. I did this myself and I?m glad I did as some are a lot more complicated to move around than others.

Have to agree

I have to agree with emma at the moment so many companies are offering special deals that it really pays to shop around.
