Come join the X1000 / HPZT3000 / HPNX7000 Intel Centrino laptop family at

I have found a lot of help already regarding loading updated system bios, video bios (ATI), etc. as well as getting the utility to test your laptop for the recent memory recall to see whether your machine has the affected memory.

I have a retail X1360US Pentium 1.4 and I have been very happy with it but I have had to do some updates at the Compaq site recently to resolve some issues.

The experts at should be able to answer this display question.

I'm going to write yes. Laptop LCDs are lit from the edges and if the design is just spot on, and even then, the edge may appear brighter than further aware from the lighting unit.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
