The Nikon S8100 was not around at the time of that comparison/review.
Here is the press release for the S8100:

I'm in the market for a compact mega-zoom in the $250 range. Here is what I'm most interested in:
1. Size (pocket would be great)
2. At least 10 MP
3. At least 8 opitcal zoom
4. Picture quality and speed more important than features and design
5. Battery length
My short list currently includes the following, but am open to other suggestions:
(a) Nicon Coolpix 8100
(b) Sony CyberShot DSC HX5V
(c) Panasonic Lumix DMC ZS7
