Compact Flash Memory for Digital Camera

I just get the Canon S50 Digital Camera, Please tell me what the difference of so many Flash Card on the market with so many difference memory from 32MB to 2GB.
The advantages and disadvantages of them.

Your Canon S50 is a 5megapixel digital camera and can take high quality digital images.

On a Large/Fine setting it captures files @ 1.395 MB giving you 88 images on a 128MB CF card and 177 images on a 256MB card.

Like a hard drive on a computer the larger the memory of the Compact Flash (CF) card the more images you can store on it.

Still do not know the Type I, Type II difference? Which one is a better choice?
Sandisk, Kingston, or so on...
