comp restarts on boot up many options tried

Sep 6, 2007 3:12AM PDT

ok this is gonna be a hard one so get your thinking caps on
ok the comp will just restart by itself as soon as it gets to the windows loading screen

custom built
changing the bios don't seem to help
all 3 safe modes don't work
start windows normally doesn't work
start with last known configuration doesn't work
they all get to the xp thing with the bar that goes across in attempt to load but then it just automatically restarts
there is no way to turn off auto restart in bios

safemode stops on drivers\TDI.SYS

i have tried unplugging it for a few hours and it still doesn't work... and i haven't changed anything and it has been working for the past year or so (i got the blackworm a while back it was a pain the ***) i haven't recently installed anything except for a folder locking program on monday but i don't think that it would affect me now
i have gotten all of my stuff thanks to knoppix but still have problems

and now i have tried to reinstall windows xp and yet another problem has arrived...

ok 2 things
#1 now on my windows disc when i try to load it up it stops and says file \i386\halaacpi.dll could not be found the error code is 7 but i can get past that by using a disc with sp1 to start up with
#2 when i get to the blue screen it tells me that i dont have a hdd/ need the sata driver and when i try to install it it says i need to have txtsetup.oem in the floppy disc i have which i dont

since i have no way of getting my computers specs in txt cus it wont start up i have an image file that shows everything

Looks a little "tired".

I wonder if this is an elder PC. You may have to clean the CD/DVD lens then try a new CD/DVD drive or duplicate your XP CD and try the duplicate.

There could be failing RAM, clogged heatsinks or even a missing heatsink. I often find power supplies that are now too weak as well.

There is nothing in your post or pictures to give a firm diagnosis but the age seems to be in the time that we see those in the shop.

Here's a test you can download and try.

Since we have no real tests or big clues besides the failure to boot and install from your Windows XP (I already noted what I do next) you can try a memory test from http://www.memtest86.com/

The download is free.
