I had a Sam Adams sampler in the fridge that was to expire this month. I felt hungry for pizza. So I made one, ate 1/2 of it, and drank a "black lager. I ate the other half last night and drank another black lager. For my indiscretion, I gained 5 pounds.
I made a big pot of turkey needle soup from the Thanksgiving turkey, and froze individual servings. I did the same from the Christmas roast. So I have plenty of good soup in the freezer.
Strange thing is I have lost my taste for beef and chicken unless it is mixed with something else, like vegetables. I have so much of both frozen that I will have to cull the ones with freezer burns. So there will be more stir fries than anything else.
To be honest, what I would want for comfort foods are candy, cookies, pie and cake.
But pasta substitutes nicely. Several light toppings available, like marinara sauce.
Bon appetite!

It came up in the last days due to snowfall and the SuperBowl what was being cooked. My friends and those I met certainly had things worked out. Besides the goodies for the SB, the other main course was "soup". A good stock from a big pot for the past and coming snow. I really mean people had the same idea, besides stocking up on milk and bread. I'm sure there are other foods that make the eaters happy but soup came up all too often during these past days. What about you? -----Willy ![]()
