Comcast cable/dvr and plasma tv

by siva66 / April 14, 2008 6:22 AM PDT

Has anyone experienced these problems with their cable &/or cable box/dvr:

1) Taking about 10 seconds to change channels (the inputs singnal often blinks before it changes channels; i.e it will blink HDMI 1 (TV input) several times before it changes channels). It would do it before when I switched between standard def and hd channels, but now it does it any time I change channels and takes much longer than before.

2) The sound cutting in and out during live and recorded tv.

I have a Panasonic 42 inch plasma (TH-42PX60U), Comcast hd cable and dvr, and a PS3 all connected via HDMI cables. Could it be the crappy Comcast service or my equipment such as my HDMI or coaxial cables. Thanks in advance.

well untill cable ups its bandwith you will always have a pause when switching to an hd channel but no w analog or reg non hd channels there should be little to no pause... I work for time warner cable n when our subs have that problem its cuz the box sucks... Try rebooting it ( unplug for 30 sec or so plug back) if you still have problems call and yell at them to get a new box .... If you are still having problems then the cable outside may need replaced just ask the tech who comes to do a test on the signal strength.... I'm sure you its not your connection cables ( hdmi cord ECT) its all the cables fault.... Hope this helps
