Can it be done? I want to send a picture and have it talk to my Granddaughter. Any ideas, I'd be grateful for.

Thanks, Val

Which Windows are you running?

Microsoft has an application called "Photo Story" which will allow you to add photos and narration. The output will be a video file that you may send via e-mail (however, it may be too big to send via e-mail).

Here's a link to download Photo Story:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/digitalphotography/photostory/default.mspx

You might need a microphone to add voice to these pictures.

You can send a talking email
Mar 26, 2006 4:58AM PST

If you and your grandaughter are both using Outlook Express for email, this will work:

First create a short message, using your microphone.
Save it with a .wav extender. (i.e. mymessage.wav)

Open Outlook Express.
Click Create.
in the New Message window that opens, click Format.
Make sure there is a black dot to the left of ''Rich Text (HTML)".

Then click anywhere in the message area.
Click Insert/Picture
Browse to the location of your photo....click OK.

Then click Format/Background/Sound
Browse to the location of your message file (i.e. mymessage.wav).
Click OK

Fill in the rest of the message area with any text you want to add.
Fill in your grandaughters email address
Be sure to send yourself a copy, so you can see the results.

Send the message.

...If the receiving party is not using Outlook Express to read their mail....this will probably not work.

...That is why you also sent youself a copy, to make sure the talking email did work.

One more question
Mar 28, 2006 2:34AM PST

Hi Joe, I'm back. OK, I can send a talking picture to my graddaughter, now I want to receive one. Trouble is, I use Eudora. How can I get my email to come to both accounts? Right now, if I open in Eudora, it won't be in OE. Appreciate the help.

Thanks, Val
