I herd about using resitors 10k kohm online but unsure if they will work, the problem I have is if I hook them up as is they back feed n short out the stereo so I need something that won't allow the back feed on the live wires

I tried this, the backfeed is still a issue, thanks though. Mainly gotta stop the back feed, I've looked at amps but not sure if a 300w PSU will power both the stereo and a 300w amp

You understand what OP is trying to do?

I am really confused. PC PSU, car stereo, etc.????

The OP
Mar 1, 2016 4:06PM PST

is trying to combine 4 channels into 2 ( I'm assuming left front to left rear and right front to right rear ) but I have never heard of this working .

Seems there would be a problem equalizing the front and rear channels if they were connected together.
I'm not a sound/electronics engineer so this is a guess.

OK yes it's front right rear right idea is the plan, the stereo has a decent equalizer on it, I found a 300w amp but it's around 100w power draw so not sure if the PC PSU will power the stereo and amp my problems power, ID rather not hook up another PSU or get a bigger one.

So this will be a sound system in the home....

not in a car?

Yes

Yes inhome, it's for my pc, plan to add a 500w sub later. More of a gaming sound system w/o payin out the *** for a powerful system that's non upgradeable

Wasn't referring to equalizing the tones

I'm not sure that you would be able to equalize the power between the front and rear since you have them connected together.
As far as the PSU is concerned , I would guess that you would have to check the power demands of the stereo plus the power demands of the amplifier to know what is required.

Again, I'm no audio/electrical engineer so for me this would be a trial and error thing.

Oh ok

Understand now, it's all trial for me to asfar as limited power n inhome use goes, I've done a few car systems not inhome b4

It seems like this has been done before
