Colors screwed when watching DVDs

Jul 19, 2005 3:41PM PDT

Lately, I just noticed all the colors are screwed up when I watch DVDs (didn't use to do that). It happens no matter what DVD program I use, PowerDVD or Windows Media. The only thing I can think of that changed was my Nvidia drivers. They're now the newest version, at 77.72. Any other ideas on what's causing it, or if the Nvidia drivers are probably to blame?

Bad DVD Drive?
Jul 20, 2005 3:59AM PDT

Just thought, could my CD-RW/DVD drive be going bad, and how could I tell if it was or not?

Nvidia drivers confirmed. Anyone else had this problem?

Running it in safe mode fixes the problem. I guess it's an Nvidia bug. Anyone else had this problem?

I just updated them a couple days ago. DVD's look fine. I use WinDVD though.

Hmm...

Well, I guess I'll just wait for a new version or use an older one. I've nailed it down to the Nvidia drivers though, since they also run on Linux.

Well, thanks for the help. Seems like a rather large bug to me though...
