I need IE to make that page work. I don't need IE...

What I saw...
Sorry!
But Color Text MX will only work on Microsoft Internet Explorer.
You need a Microsoft Internet Explorer anyway....

Sorry Keith - I shall take a look at the html and see what I can do

It may be possible to change the html to allow other browsers - I didn't know of that restriction.

Try this link Keith with your browser - restriction has been lifted

Hi Rosalie,
What happened then Rosalie. I don't have a non-IE
browser to test it out unfortunately.

I think the "IE only" restriction was for a good reason. Probably requires ActiveX or something else proprietary to MS. I tried it using Mozilla 1.5b.

Definitely no active X but

there is a lot of browser selection going on in the script, with slightly different actions relative to certain browsers.
I may have found a problem with NS so id you don't mind would you run the "other link through Netscape"
The first link that I posted remains totally untouched.
Cheers Steve

Steve, I use Netscape 7.1 and neither URL will work.

The first one tells me, same as Keith, that it only works with IE and that I need IE anyway. The second link produces a page with only text and nothing else. No buttons to click, no links, no scroll bars.

Using Opera, the second link you provide shows the first page of the color test with the 'Next' button at the bottom which is clickable, but the second page does not work at all. The word 'Next' appears but there is nothing to click.

Thanks for giving the links a good try Rosalie

I think the problem may be with the javascript on their web site. It probably only handles IE and there is nothing I can do about it. I am really sorry and hope you are not too disappointed that it hasn't worked. Those with IE will probably be ok but that is no consolation to you unfortunately.
There used to be web sites that you could use to run URLs. The software appeared to be on the web server, but it was a long time ago that I used them, and I have since lost the links.
I will have a quick waltz with google and see if I can find one.

I wonder if your internet security settings are the reason for the problem. Check them to see if frames are allowed. They should be. Something else you must have enabled is scripting - it may be disabled.
You could also try the last link that I placed on this thread
http://www.21code.com/luscher/index.htm

It may make a difference - but I don't know why

NT--Scripting may be it. I'm sure I have that disabled!

Don't forget to start a new instance of the IE program after you change the security settings, but I guess you already know that - just making sure.
