College Laptop

by sjs2008 / December 3, 2007 4:37 AM PST

I'm a senior in high school and I am planning on getting a laptop for my birthday. But I don't really know what features I should look for or what kinds are good. I've looked at a couple HP's (dv6500t and C700t) and a Dell 1521. All of which are around the same price. Any help would be appreciated

At one college our son was thinking of attending there was a dell deal. For 4 years you got tech support to die for. A dell counter was there where you took your laptop and most found it fixed within the hour.

I wish they did that in Ireland....

Personally I think all you need is:

Small screen 15.4"
Light processor and ram
Nice keyboard! (Your going to be typing allot of notes on it)
wifi (very handy)
Batter (look for something that can last a few classes) (mine lasts for 2 labs in a day and I don?t use in lectures)

graphics card (not important. only eats up battery and games today need killer spec to play well)

a nice low end dell laptop with a go batter would be sweet!
