You share that network with thousands of your fellow students so the link speed is likely to be so slow that you'll wonder why you bothered. Ask around and see if anyone has done this.
At my university students are not afforded cable television in their dorms. I wanted to know how to connect to my home network which streams live tv from windows media center via the internet, and if so could this be done even with an xbox 360. I've looked at logmein hamachi as a VPN to do this but I cannot install this on an xbox. Is there some kind of firmware I can put on my router at college and configure it to connect to my router at home? Also, if I were to connect to my router at home using my laptop how could I access the live tv streaming on my windows media center on my home's main PC. The xbox 360 acts as a windows media center extender and therefore can connect to my home PC's windows media center content, but is there any way possible to turn my laptop into an extender as well? I hope you guys can follow what I am saying, thanks for whatever help you guys can give.
