My father and my younger brothers have classic male pattern baldness, and so do I, but seen through thinning hair, which they no longer have!
Also, I am the mother (father?) of coffee drinkers.
QED.

If you are experiencing hair loss check with your dermatologist. Other doctors to consult could be Internal Medicine MD, Oncologist or your OBG for hormonal imbalance check. In addition, read How-To protect your hair at http://www.nuhair.net/Hair-Care.htm
There are hair growth products that claim results on baldness or thinning hair but are very limited in actuality of any significant hair growth.
The prescription drug finasteride, brand name Propecia, was originally a prostate treatment. It is now used to treat male pattern hair loss but with very limited success re-growing hair. Rogaine and Propecia claim hair growth results but if these slow, or stop any hair loss, this is fantastic. Only 10% will not respond to Propecia though. Research has shown that it only grows hair in younger men and only as very fine and very thin peach fuss hair. Upon stopping the use of Propecia drug, any re-growth is also stopped. Within 6 to 12 months, any re-growth hair will be gone too. There are side effects to consider.
Rogaine with Minoxidil as the active ingredient, is now available over the counter as hair loss treatment. Minoxidil was originally used to treat high blood pressure. Success is similar to Propecia. Treatments call for Minoxidil to be applied twice a day or any re-grown hair will fall out.
If you are using any medication prescribed by a doctor and you see no improvement of your hair loss after a month or two than go back to your doctor.
Do not spend you money on NEW miracle drugs.
