UNLIKE MANY OF MY FRIENDS, I HAVE ONE REMOTE ON MY COFFEE TABLE. IT CONTROLS MY HDTV, CABLE BOX, DVD PLAYER, VCR, 2ND TV AND WEBTV. FOR ONLY $25 AT BEST BUY, IT BEATS HAVING TO SWITCH REMOTES EVERYTIME YOU WANT TO OPERATE A CERTAIN DEVICE. BE SURE TO GET ONE THAT CAN CONTROL, AT LEAST 6 OR MORE, DEVICES AND HAS A LEARN FEATURE. THIS WAY, YOU CAN ADD MORE DEVICES IN THE FUTURE AND PROGRAM SPECIAL FEATURES ONTO THE UNIVERSAL.
I have an Onkyo A/V receiver and an RCA DRD 486 satellite receiver. I can use the Onkyo remote to change channels on the satellite receiver but other functions like the menu (to view the satellite receiver menu) and previous channel buttons don't work. Am I not using the right RCA receiver code for the Onkyo receiver? The Onkyo docs only show one code for RCA satellite receivers. Do I need a universal remote or a learning remote? Am I just spazing and not programming correctly.
ANY help is appreciated. Thanks.
