Question

Coaxial Cable TV Input to Denon AVR1613 Receiver

Mar 14, 2015 11:09AM PDT

We purchased a Denon AVR1613 Receiver and thought it had Coax input, we were wrong. We have a cabin in the mountains and they do not provide or offer cable boxes, I've called and asked, nope.
Since the Denon does NOT have coax input, what do I use to convert the Coax Cable to HDMI so I can utilize the speaker system when watching TV?

Why not have the TV send through the audio over optical?

Optical Audio also Toslink?
Mar 15, 2015 3:00AM PDT

Looking online to purchase this miracle cable. Just to verify, and Optical Audio cable is also called Toslink? Also, is there any brand or rating I should look for or stay away from?
Will not be able to test and see if this works until we come back up here next month. If I went to the local hardware store and asked for an Optical Audio Cable, I might as well be asking for a unicorn, I know they won't have one.

Will let you know how it goes.

Thank you Bob!
