Question

COAX to HDMI

by prerakbaxi / May 26, 2015 1:23 AM PDT

Hi All,

Newbie here so please bear with me.

I just pusrchased a home and am trying to wire the basement for Home theater. The house has been wired already and I am getting a projector installed. Right where the projectorsi s supposed to be installed there previosu owners have L audo, R Audio and Coax out over there.

My projector does not take Coax and I am tyring to figure out the best way to get HDMI video i/p feed in it. Also how do i convert all my HD output to Coax if thats the only feed available going out into the wall from the receivers?

thanks,

Frankly, getting a HDMI cable pulled is cheaper.

I have Verizon FIOS and they used coax cable to both my router/modem and my HD set top box, so you can get HD video over coax. How do you plan to have HD TV come to your home? If you already have existing coax, let them hook it to the ONT or whatever equipment they use to send HD content to the HD set top box.

And if that doesn't work, the installer can always piggyback new cable where the old one currently resides to get a fresh/clean install.

Also, since the OP is a newbie, he should realize (to complete the puzzle) that there will also be an HDMI cable from Verizon Fios box to Projector.

cheers
