Question

Coax cable to other connectors to my tv

by Sve_mn2000 / June 18, 2015 12:41 AM PDT

I just bought a used tv that has various input jacks but no jack available to accept coax input for cable. I need to figure out a way to convert incoming coax input (from cable company) to one of the other source input types available. Those consist of vga, hdmi, component audio and video, and usb. The TV is from 2013 so I believe it is digital (Element Electronics model ELCFW329 32"TV). Can anyone help me with this? My internet searches so far aren't helping. Thank you!

You are telling us that connection do not work with the cable system? My question then is...are you certain it's ok to do this without any cable box? You asked the cable company?

Comcast cable company

I have confirmed with the cable company (Comcast) that I should be able to do this with just coax input to TV, but I won't get high def or pay channels that are scrambled

I use to have Time Warner and as far as hi-def go...that I am not sure of but as for premium or pay channels goes, a box has always been required since day one if I remember correctly.

Tell which cable company.

Many like Cox have encrypted the formerly open channels and there is NO cable that will do what you want. That's why your internet searches fail.

Comcast noted should be able to use coax direct to my tv

Unfortunately though the TV coax connection is output only and I need input for the cable signal from the coax

No, tv have never have coax output...

as far as I know. Generally, outputs are for audio mostly. Are you in a area where over-the-air TV signal can be received? If so, connect an antenna to it and see if you can get any HD tv station. If you do get it...then the issue is not your tv but Comcast.
