Resolved Question

CNET Website Size Change

Dec 18, 2015 7:03AM PST

Did anyone notice a change in the CNET website? It loads to the "normal" size for a second then it shrinks to about 1/2 size. I tried it on 3 browsers (Firefox, Chrome, IE). Windows update effect? CNET changing their website parameters?

Is this just the CNET home page?

http://www.cnet.com/

or other CNET pages as well?

If it is just the CNET home page, then it is because of the Samsung advertisement that wraps around the content of the page. This is not broken as it is intentional. When there is no ad that wraps the page, the top highlighted content extends the full length of the page.

Please let me know if this what you are experiencing.

This is a separate issue and has to do with the forums.

The preview window is on the page, you just have to scroll to the top. We are looking into this as to why it is positioning itself to the top rather than staying put where it was initialized.

I only have the ad blocker on one of the browsers. My default (Firefox) has the blocker. I suspected that it was something related to that. Thanks for confirming. It appears to be home page only. I am going to disable the blocker on the cnet site. I get useful information - small way for paying for it.
