I had the same problem, too (and was monitoring this issue). I'm running Windows 7 (Home Premium) and IE9. The updater kept telling me that it could not open Techtracker.exe. Finally, I renamed the old Techtracker.exe, and the installer worked just fine. Go figure.

I have been using CNET Techtracker for the past year without any problems. Yesterday the CNET Techtracker ran and informed me that there was an update (2.0.4) for CNET Techtracker. I downloaded it today, and ran it and the tool stops halfway and gives me a "Scan Failed - General Scan failure" error message everytime now. I have restarted my pc several times. Uninstalled it, re-installed the tool and I keep getting the same error message.
