it is all the time automatically adding interests to my account too. I unselected and save then it adds something again, not always the same.

Hi mejustsayin,

That is strange. So at anytime you will get stuff added to your interests in your CNET profile? Or only when you add something or remove it?

Right now you have only "Cell Phones" listed.

Anyways I'm going to look into this to see what is triggering this weird behavior.

Thanks for reporting and sorry for the weirdness!

sorry I forgot about this thread. the weirdness is still there. I just edited my profile to get rid of three selections. I do not want anything selected but they keep appearing. just like the cell phones you mentioned.

Quick follow up.

So I just tested this my own account and everything seems to be working correctly. One step that I noticed that could be easily overlooked after editing that field, the Save button!

After you unchecked the interest selections, did you happen to remember if you hit the "Save" button at the bottom of the form? Since the Save button is located out of view when you're editing the interest section, this definitely can be easily forgotten. Maybe that is the case here?

Please let me know.

Thanks,
-Lee

Yes. I did save.

I realize some of your less gifted patrons may omit that step but I did not. See attached, just happened again.
I don't have an issue with you doing what you have to do, but altering a persons interests and/or other information after it's set is not cool.
No, nothing else of mine has been altered,
but if it can happen to this.........

Thanks for that info!

That's not good. We definitely would not intentionally alter your interest. I completely agree with you, that would not be cool at all. Something is broken obviously as if the wiped record comes back after a short period of time.

I manually removed "Apple news and product" out of your account before I replied to you and made sure it didn't show up in your profile, I guess it came back. Sad

I'll report this bug to our staff. Hopefully someone will figure out what is going on.

I apologize for the weirdness.

Cheers and again thanks for bringing this to our attention.

I just manually removed "Apple news and products" out of your profile, jetmetalsam. Please do not touch your profile. I need to see if it comes back again. Thanks!

Thanks jetmetalsam appreciate the help and details.

Is there any status update on this. I am tired of having to continuously delete false public profile information.

again what is the status

or does adding more information, even fake info to public profiles make it more valuable when sharing or selling to third parties.
