Re: access denied

Since you can post here, you have access to cnet.com/forums. And you don't have access to cnet.com? That's strange. Or did you do this post in incognito mode?

- Try again. It might have been a transient error.
- Try another browser (what browser are you using now)?
- Try to reset your browser back to defaults.

A hour or so ago, some glitch across CNET.

I didn't get any notice but for a time the forums were giving guru meditation errors and CNET.com was out as well.

In other words, it was most likely nothing on your end.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

As Bob had mentioned, CNET entire site was having some technical issues earlier today around 10am Pacific, but this has since been resolved. Are you still having issue even now? If you are, maybe try Kees' suggestions?

If you are able to read the forums and post here, your IP should not be blocked. If it were you would not be able to reach CNET or the CNET forums.

Also can you provide what specific CNET page is giving you this access denied? Or is it all of them?

Let me know if this is still a problem for you.

Thanks!
-Lee

clear browsing data

In reply to: Cnet.com gives me Access Denied

I've had this same problem too for some days, but I noticed that it happened only with Firefox (the browser I normally use). At the beginning I thought it was perhaps due to the antivirus, but then I tried another browser (MS Edge) and realized that everything worked fine. Then I went back to Firefox, cleared all the browsing data and... problem solved!

Hi Camux,

In reply to: clear browsing data

sorry to hear you are having this problem occasionally as well.

When you say "same problem too for some days" can you tell me specifically when did these occurrences happen was it just yesterday (10/23), today (10/24) or other days? And if you remember what pages they or was it on all CNET pages? Also was it the same message as the OP with "Access Denied You don't have permission to access"?

Thanks for your help with the details.
