General discussion

CNET Archive. Why I am listed on the top of 3,910,000 posts?

Aug 17, 2005 3:29PM PDT

WEIRD! I went to google with my Firefox browser. Typed in CNET Archive. I came up at the top of the list out of millions with my post to the Graphics Forum.
I did not know I was so popular (taboma)

Strange! I took a double take and look and hit the link. There I was posting to the Graphics Forum. Bob Proffitt is in charge of that forum.
Can anyone figure out why Google came up with my post as #1 on the list? Kind of flattering, but also weird. Why not Bob Proffitt's name?
I am not paranoid. Is google looking at me?
(Just kidding) Happened at 1:00 am tonight.
Try it yourselves using Firefox. Really, I am not nuts. Mouseroma questioned me a few weeks ago. Wrong!
Proved to be true.
I must be on a roll here to view something strange.
What I plan to do is to take a PDF shot of it. Send it to mouseroma (John) so he can give all of you a link to the PDF file.
Thanks,

Kevin Smith

But the Graphics Forum is not one that's on my list but I do pass by since it's not too much trouble with today's modern tabbed browsers. (Hello Microsoft?)

Mark, Just go on the forums when most are sleeping. I work a swing shift from 12:30 to 10:30pm, drive home, have a late supper, I can go to the net about midnight. So that by the time, most are off the net except for the West Coast.
That is where I see some strange ads, spill-overs and all sorts of weird things happen.
I was using Firefox with the spill-over for Black Berry header ad (not a pop-up) and typing into the CNET Archive. The exact number for me was No. 1 out of 3,910,000. I thought to myself, oh no, not again to see something weird! Took a screen shot of it and sent it to Bob Proffitt, Peter (nrmacfixit) and to a member, mouseroma.
Mark, is you want to view the screen shot, just email me and I will send you an image. That way you can post that I am not crazy.
Sent one to Pudgyone tonight. Perhaps he can show you a link to the screen shot. Or contact Bob Proffitt.
Bob Proffitt is the only one that seemes to be on top of everything out there with CNET and strange happenings.
Mark, my straight jacket size is 38 reg. And I can be reached at nuts.com. Just kidding.

Oh, no!?Peanutbutter and sardine sandwiches again?

Unfortunately, you never posted to me to explain this #1 post weirdness and how it happenen in the first place.
Mark, any idea!

Frank Sinatra had a great solution for it with a song.
?Stranger's in the night??
Mark, get back to me with your thoughts after your brain retuns to normal after being #1. You can post back to me next year at your forum.
